Dear Parents,
We are pleased to report on another year of progress here at St. Paul the Apostle
Catholic School. The 2004-2005 school year presented many challenges and
opportunities for the staff an.d students alike. Throughout the course of the year
St. Paul's successfully implemented an anti-bullying program, a rigorous program
of staff development and the Circle the World with Love multicultural program.
The students achieved outstanding scores on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills and the
school is projecting an increase in our building enrollment for the 2005-2006 schoo
year.
Work in all of these programs illustrates St. Paul's continued commitment toward
our hallmarks of Stewardship, Academic Excellence, Catholic Values and Family.
As a staff of religious, administrators, teachers, and non-certified, we continually
recognize a commitment to helping each child advance both spiritually and academically.
We also invite and embrace the family's role as the first educator in a
child's life, especially in the moral development of our youth. Therefore, we also
want to take this opportunity to thank our families for the support provided to your
children and to us as educators.
Finally, as we look forward to the 2005-2006 school year, great plans are already
in the works. Electronic portfolios will begin in grades 5-8, anew language arts
series will be implemented across all grades, and the staff is preparing for staff
development with the new series and the six trait writing series. We hope these
activities continue to make every child a Faith-Filled Student.
God Bless,
Rev. Michael Spiekermeier Pastor St. Paul the Apostle Parish
