Future Club The Future Club was fonned by a group of dads in the late 1980s for the purpose of developing a retirement plan for teachers that previously was nonexistent. Today, the Future Club provides $25,000 per year to the teacher retirement program at St. Paul The Apostle School. Some of you maybe wondering about the impact of Embracing Our Future, the fund drive to benefit all K 12 Catholic schools in Scott County, on the St. Paul Future Club. This campaign provides for need-based tuition assistance, faculty and staffbenefit enhancements and a comprehensive marketing program. Will the need for Future Club be eliminated by Embracing Our Future? Probably not. If Embracing Our Future provides $18,000 for teacher health insurance and retirement benefits each year, we can use Future Club funds for other projects such as keeping the school's physical facilities up-to-date. In summary, I hope that you will support Embracing Our Future so that today's Catholic school education will continue to create the successful adults of tomorrow. Likewise, I hope you will also support Future Club so that we keep St. Paul the Apostle School one of the best in the area. Thank you for your continued support.

Grant Committee The St. Paul the Apostle School Grant Committee has been very successful this year in receiving over $30,000 in assistance at this juncture. There is still over $70,000 in grants still being deliberated. The money we have received from the Scott County Regional Authority has helped to provide technology, and staff development for teachers. Please take the opportunity to thank Kirk Metzger, Patt Englander, Colleen Tallman, Julie Delaney and Tom Tallman for their work on this committee. As always we ask that if you know of a possible grant opportunity, please share it with us.
| Multicultural Committee This year St. Paul the Apostle School received an educational grant for $2,350 from the Community Foundation - Great Riverbend for multicultural teaching in addition to funding from American Family Insurance. Our theme for the school year has been "Circle the World With Love": Multicultural Cirriculum and Program Development. Throughout the school year our students have studied a variety of countries and their cultures. In addition, thanks to the educational grant, our music department was able to purchase several new ethnic instruments that were featured in this years' multiculturally based Christmas program. Our theme of cultural diversity will be concluded with a "Multicultural Day", a whole day set aside to continue experiencing the sights, sounds and even tastes from a variety of countries. Multicultural Day activities will feature local talent and the talents of our own St. Paul community. Our students' passports will be stamped as they travel from country to country as they learn to appreciate a new language, craft, dance or game. We look forward to sharing this special day by inviting a few public elementary school students to join us. A great deal of thanks goes out to Leslie Bassier and her committee for planning this exciting learning opportunity for our students. | ||||
