Home and School Association Report

The Home and School Association members are the parents of the children at St. Paul the Apostle. There are monthly meetings where we plan, organize, and report on the various activities of the association. These meetings are open to all members. The primary purpose is to provide support voluntarily with our time and talents, as well as provide monetary support through our many fundraising efforts to benefit St. Paul’s and its students. For the 2008-2009 school year, our fundraising activities included the following:

  • Panther Perks-on-going fundraiser raised $10,000
  • Magazine Sales-profits of $19,787
  • Girls’ Night out Bingo-profits of $2,343
  • Thanksgiving Basketball Shoot Out-raised $9,449
  • Breakfast with St. Nick- raised $678
  • Adult Social and Auction-profits of $29,000
  • St. Pat’s Fun Night-profits of $3,300
  • Miscellaneous (Fees, Box Tops, Target, Bridge Club, Recycling, Uniform Sale)-profits of $5,400

Home and School is also responsible for the following on-going activities:

  • Monthly newsletter-enhance communication between home and school
  • Yearly Calendar-compilation and printing of the yearly school calendar
  • Hospitality-provide hospitality services for school programs and events
  • Family Fun Committee-plan and organize family events
  • Spruce Up the School-parent volunteers to help clean the school
  • Volunteer Coordinators-help find room parents and volunteers
  • Spirit Wear-sales of SPS clothing and accessories
  • Registration-coordinate the school registration process

Due to the efforts of many parent volunteers, the Home and School Association raised over $79,000 in 2008-2009. Some of this money will be allocated to purchase technology including new laptop computers. Home and School’s budget is also used to help supplement our school’s programs throughout the year and to provide special improvements when our budget allows. The H&S Board would like to extend its deepest appreciation to all of the committee chairs and volunteers without whom none of this would be possible! Your continuous support is immeasurable. We would also like to acknowledge Mr. Ryan. Thank you so much for your amazing leadership, guidance, and support this year. Many thanks to our incredible office staff, Claire and Lynn, for tirelessly aiding us at every turn and always with a smile!
