Summer 2007
Altar & Rosary has already been very busy participating in parish functions this summer.
Sunday, June 24, 2007:
The ladies of the Altar & Rosary Society of St. Paul’s Church served about 250 attendees of the Sisters of Humility Jubilee Celebration in Denning Hall. The event was attended by sisters, clergy, family, friends, and guests. A menu of cake, nuts, mints, and drinks was provided.
Sunday, August 12, 2007:
School Registration took place in Denning Hall from 9:00 to 1:00. Joan Kuraitis staffed the Altar & Rosary table that day, and spoke with about 30 school moms about either joining an Altar & Rosary Circle, or forming a new one with their friends and other class parents. The newly revised A & R brochure was available for distribution that day. Thanks to Rosie O’Haver for her efforts in designing a lovely pink flier for our organization.
Saturday, August 18, 2007:
On this day, the ladies of our Society served a hot buffet to nearly 300 clergy, family, friends, and guests of Deacon Hai Dinh and Deacon Joseph Sia. They were ordained at the 10:00 Mass, and enjoyed a reception in Denning Hall immediately after the service. With the help of about 12 volunteers on Friday night, the hall was transformed into a banquet facility. Another 12 to 15 volunteers worked again on Saturday from 8:00 to 3:00 to serve and clean up the kitchen. Thanks to Jean Jackson, First Vice President of Altar & Rosary, for her help in obtaining workers, and hot dishes, that day.
We are looking forward to the Parish Festival on Sunday, September 16th, from 11:00 to 4:00.
Also, mark your calendars now for the popular Holiday Bazaar the weekend of November 17-18. The ladies will be
working hard to prepare homemade pies, cookies, and other treats, as well as designing delightful crafts, and overflowing raffle baskets for the
drawing at the end of the weekend.
We continue to serve the Parish by supplying and serving funeral luncheons, preparing coffee and donuts for Donut Sunday, and cleaning vigil lights each month.
