Inquiry into the Catholic Church –
This is the time of year when we turn again
to one of our basic works as Catholic Christians:
inviting others to see and hear the
heart of our community. We want to share
our faith in Christ, and the chief way we do
that as a parish is through the
RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA).
Adults who want to look into the Catholic Church enter the RCIA process
around this time of year. They meet as inquirers with a team of parish
members and the priests. Their questions are invited and respected.
No one is pressured. The movement of God and faith is not something
we compel or direct. We intend only to offer information and the opportunity
to share the experience of faith as it is lived in this community.
If we are persuasive it is because the attractiveness of God's merciful
love is alive right here among us.
Who is a candidate for the RCIA? Any adult who is not a Catholic. We
especially invite spouses of Catholics and those planning to marry a
Catholic. Catholics who were baptized but haven't received the other
sacraments are also welcome, along with those who have not had a
Catholic education, or whose education stopped at an elementary level.
All will find the RCIA a way to grow.
No previous education or preparation is required. Only an inquiring
mind, an open heart, and willingness to enter a journey with great possibilities.

at 322-7994. The inquiry sessions will begin on September 23rd at
7:00p.m. in McEleney Hall - the church lower level.
