Our parish is purchasing the Fanth property (just to the west of the Rectory) and the
O’Connor property (just north of the Parish Center). A group of parishioners had
purchased the Fanth property in 2006 and at that time our parish entered into a letter
of intent to purchase that property from them with the approval of the Bishop with
the intention of providing more parking. The Fanth building will be vacated by the
end of September. The St. Paul’s Angels (the investors) will hand it over to the parish
as a leveled lot which will permit us to proceed to construct a parking lot in the
near future. The O’Connor house at this time will continue to be rented by the current
management team. This is being accomplished through our setting aside acquisition
funds in the budgeting process in last year’s budget and this year’s budget, as
well as some expected return of investments from some of the investors and also the
rebate from our current Diocesan “Moving Forward in Faith and Hope” Capital
Campaign. |
Childrens’ Garden On Sunday, June 28, new
walkway stones added to the
Elizabeth Ministry Garden at
the BVM statue in the Parking
Lot and the new Children’s
Garden at the St. Francis
shrine were dedicated.
The Children’s Garden given
in memory of Mary Grimes is
a reminder that our parish
community is completely
dedicated to the care and instruction
of our parish youngsters
as evidenced by our
strong commitment to Catholic
Schools. It is also a reminder
that our parish is completely
dedicated to the care
and protection of God’s children.
Our parish, school and
religious education staffs are
trained so that our parish
young people can feel safe in
our care.
